Competences Opal-RT is a company of engineers for engineers. They are committed to providing the best high-fidelity, high-performance, completely configurable simulation platforms for virtual prototyping of complex dynamic systems and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing. In order to achieve this, the company has developed expertise in Real-Time Product Development: including RT-LAB and its add-on tools, driver development for data I/O and real-time communications.Data I/O Hardware Design, Signal Conditioning and Hardware Integration: Design and development of high-performance FPGA-based I/O hardware, optimized for hardware-in-the-loop simulation, testing and control system interfaces, and specialized signal conditioning. High-Performance Data Communication Systems: Design, development and manufacture of high-performance communication systems, based on FPGA-hardware, optimized for distributed real-time computation. Power Electronics and Electric Drive Systems Simulation: Development of high-fidelity models of power electronics systems, such as electric drives, IGBTs and inverters, for HIL applications. The company has also developed specialized solvers for Simulink that facilitate the convert simPowerSystems models to real-time. Automotive Simulators and HIL Test Cells: Implementation of real-time virtual prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop test systems for all aspects of vehicular design, including engine and transmission simulation, ECU design and test, ABS, power steering and X-by-Wire systems. Aerospace Modeling and Simulation: Implementation of model-based design methodologies, incorporating RT-LAB Engineering Simulators, that has slashed design times and dramatically reduced costs for aerospace customers. Mechatronics and Advanced Control: Highly advanced control applications for robotics, motion platforms and other multi-degree-of-freedom systems. |
