Course title:   OP-105: Hardware Solutions for Real-Time applications

Course description:  This course is a detailed description of Opal-RT hardware solutions for real-time applications. The focus is on Opal-RT OP5142 FPGA board, monitoring solution and finally the use of third-party cards. The course is mainly hands-on based. At the end of the training the engineer shall be able to make any IO model based on OP5142 and to connect it to its hardware device.

Duration:    1 day (class of 7 hours)

Prerequisite:  OP-101 Course

Language: English, French, Mandarin, Spanish

Material:  PowerPoint presentation, user manual,  Simulink and RT-LAB examples, Wanda 4U, monitoring panel, scope

Objectives:  

  • Being able to use documentation to correctly set Simulink model
  • Being able to generate analog and digital signal using OP5142
  • Being able to use a monitoring panel
  • Understanding the concepts and using third-party boards such as Softing CAN AC2 board

Day 1

  • Module 1: use of OP5142 FPGA-based IO card and its peripherals
  • Module 2: Monitoring panel solution for signal monitoring
  • Module 3: Use of third-party IO boards
