Compatibility among RT-XSG, MATLAB, Xilinx and OPAL Reprogrammable FPGAs

RT-LAB 10.x supports three types of reprogrammable FPGA boards, namely, OP5142 based on Spartan3, OP5130 based on VirtexIIpro and Xilinx ML50x based Virtex 5.

RT-XSG 1.3.x supports generating bitstreams that can be implemented on  all three boards. RT-XSG1.3.x requires the following softare environment:

- Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit version)

- MATLAB R2007b or R2008a

- Xilinx ISE design suite v10.1.03 with IP Update 3 or later,  and system generator for DSP*

*Note: In particular, compatibility issues require the installed release of each component to match (e.g. ISE Design Suite 10.1.03 with IP Update 3 and System Generator 10.1.03). Updating one of the Xilinx subcomponents is likely to require an update of all other Xilinx tools and libraries to ensure full software compatibility.

Other Latest Versions:

MATLAB R2008b or R2009b will be supported by RT-XSG2.x.

Xilinx ISE DSP Edition v11 and v12 will be supported by RT-XSG 2.x, but can  NO LONGER be used to generate bitstream for OP5130.

Xilinx ISE Webpack CANNOT be used to generate bitstream of OP5142, though it can be used for OP5130 (v10.1)  and ML505 only (v11 and v12).
