OPAL-RT's AMS Projects
The objective for 2002 is to provide the company with the ability to achieve complete integration of an aircraft design through simulation. Embraer will be the first company in the world to fully exploit the technologies of the new millennium: design and integration by simulation, creating the virtual aircraft.
In parallel, a team formed by Opal's AMS Division and Embraer's engineers has been modeling the ERJ-170 engine, the GE CF 34-8, and, an ERJ-170 test rig is being used with RT-LAB and the model for hardware-in-the-loop testing. With the help of AMS, the Embraer Engineering Development Simulator was successfully transitioned from a UNIX environment to a Windows/NT and RT-LAB environment. The AMS team was in charge of the RT-LAB implementation and since then, providing the support for RT-LAB. The AMS team is also continuously providing general consulting and training for the flight mechanics department either at Opal-RT or directly at Embraer. |
