Join Opal-RT at SAE World Congress 2006

Opal-RT invites you to visit booth#1910 at the SAE 2006 World Congress being held in Detroit, MI on April 3-6, 2006. Opal-RT has exhibited every year since 1999 at the SAE World Congress.

We have grown to serve a number of industries and we now have a dedicated local support team in the Detroit area. Opal-RT has become a key partner for many automotive design teams to help move engineering activities from prototype vehicles into laboratories, particularly in the hybrid electric vehicle area where we have been serving the global leaders in HEV technologies including Allison Transmission and Toyota.

At this year’s SAE World Congress we will demonstrate our latest engineering simulators, testing equipment, host technology partner days and present two papers in the technical sessions.

Opal-RT in The Mathworks Pavilion Booth #1170:

Opal-RT will also be participating in The Mathworks Pavilion at World Congress, demonstrating the RT-LAB Electric Drive Simulator . As hybrid powertrain engineers develop components with switching frequencies beyond the traditional 10-20 kHz range, Opal-RT has expanded the bandwidth of the company’s simulators to one megahertz so they can continue to develop a highly accurate virtual hybrid powertrain. Engineers are able to take motor and power electronics models from Simulink to FPGA-based hardware, where model computations and I/O all completed within one microsecond.

PRODUCT DEMONSTRATIONS AT SAE
Demonstrations at the Opal-RT booth#1910 at SAE World Congress:

Members of Opal-RT’s technical team will be demonstrating solutions based on RT-LAB. The highlights of our booth demonstrations include:

RT-LAB TestDrive
First introduced at SAE 2004 World Congress, TestDrive, Opal-RT’s high-volume, low-cost simulator has helped engineers develop and test ECU software for powertrain, body electronics, and advanced power systems. At this year’s World Congress, Opal-RT will demonstrate the new user interface, TestDrive GUI v2, a Tactile Interface Module that combines the "touch and feel" of static simulators with closed loop simulation and test automation, and a multi-processor TestDrive. The demonstrator at this SAE World Congress will be a motorcycle engine ECU test bench. RT-LAB MX Station

RT LAB MX Station With support for Pentium M and Pentium 4 HT single- and dual-core processors, the RT-LAB MX Station rapid prototyping platform offers all the processing power, Hardware in the Loop and FPGA development capabilities of the company’s flagship RT-LAB Engineering Simulator. However, RT-LAB MX Station’s compact, ruggedized footprint means the engineer can easily take it out of the lab and use it anywhere to handle on-site service, in-vehicle testing and other rapid prototyping tasks.

RT-LAB Electric Drive Simulator
As hybrid powertrain engineers develop components with switching frequencies beyond the traditional 10-20 kHz range, Opal-RT has expanded the bandwidth of the RT-LAB Electric Drive Simulator to one a megahertz (1MHz) so engineers can continue to develop a highly accurate virtual hybrid powertrain for hardware in-the-loop simulation. Engineers are able to take motor and power electronics models from Simulink to FPGA-based hardware for both model computation and I/O management.

OPAL-RT PARTNER TECHNOLOGY DAYS AT SAE

Opal-RT will be hosting a series of technology partner days, each day of the Congress. Be sure to stop by and meet our partners.

Monday, April 3, 2006
Mechanical Simulation Corporation

CarSim/CarSim RT (Booth #1719) is a global standard for advanced vehicle dynamics simulation.  The combination of CarSim and RT-LAB provides a fully integrated vehicle dynamics design and validation environment, for offline or hardware in-the-loop simulation.  We will demonstrate how you can easily use CarSim, TruckSim or BikeSim vehicle and test road data screens, driver inputs, our automated engineering plotter, and the interactive animator.

ExpertControl
provides technical development environments and powerful Engineering Software for applications, such as: mechanics, electronic systems, mechatronics, hydraulics, automotive, aerospace etc... At SAE, ExpertControl will be demonstrating the ecICP and ecVERSIM software packages. ecICP automatically generates dynamic models and parameterze controllers from measured data - this will be demonstrated by using a real airflow system. ecVERSIM is a version control system managing concurrent work on Simulink models with multiple developers. ExpertControl is Opal-RT Technologies' distributor for Germany.
