Opal-RT On Board the ARJ21
Opal-RT is proud to announce the sale of an RT-LAB HIL Simulator to the Shanghai Aeronautical Institute (SARI). SARI is a lead institute on China's indigenous regional jet program, the ARJ21. SARI will use the RT-LAB system in the ARJ21 Iron Bird.

"SARI has chosen to go with a technologically advanced Iron Bird that incorporates simulation to close the loop around their test equipment", said Marco Papini, Manager of Opal-RT's Aerospace & Defense Group. "RT-LAB's support of standard simulation tools, its scalability, openness and ability to support massive amounts of I/O are ideal for the Iron Bird application", added Papini. |
Included with the RT-LAB system is DINAMO, Opal-RT's aeronautics software. "Test engineers want to be able to re-start the Iron Bird at any prescribed point without waiting for transients to die out and then inject simple inputs to check system functionality. DINAMO gives them this capability already integrated with their RT-LAB HIL facility", said Jean Bélanger, President and CTO of Opal-RT Technologies Inc.
| Opal-RT is committed to helping SARI ensure the success of the ARJ21 program and the continued growth of Chinese aviation. With sales to Embraer and the ARJ21, Opal-RT has become a leading supplier of simulation HIL equipment for small passenger jet programs. | ![]() |
