Power electronics are evolving rapidly. AI data centers, ultra-fast EV charging, battery energy storage, and electrified transportation are driving higher switching frequencies, greater power density, and increasingly sophisticated converter architectures. Topologies such as LLC resonant converters, Dual Active Bridges, multilevel converters, and other high-frequency architectures offer significant performance advantages—but they also introduce new challenges for controller development and validation.
In this webinar, we will examine the converter trends shaping tomorrow’s power systems and the implications for real-time testing. Attendees will learn how Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation can be used to test real controllers against high-fidelity virtual power stages, safely reproduce faults and edge cases, and accelerate validation before committing to costly power hardware. The session will also introduce OPAL-RT’s High-Speed Converter Simulation (HSCS) capabilities and demonstrate how extremely small real-time simulation steps can enable HIL testing of demanding high-frequency converter applications.
