About the webinar

Data center power infrastructure is becoming increasingly complex as grid-interconnection requirements, fast-changing load profiles, energy management, backup power, protection, and converter-based architectures become more tightly coupled. Validating these interactions before deployment is critical to reducing integration risk and improving system resilience.

In this webinar, OPAL-RT will explore how Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Power-Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) testing can support validation across the data center gray space, from grid compliance and protection to energy management, UPS and backup power, and advanced power conversion. The session will also examine how dynamic AI/GPU load profiles, IBRs, and coordinated control strategies can be reproduced in a controlled, repeatable test environment.

A practical HYPERSIM demonstration will illustrate how data center components and controllers can be evaluated together under dynamic operating conditions and fault scenarios. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of where HIL/PHIL fits within the data center validation workflow and how it can help identify critical integration risks before deployment.
