RT-LAB 2025.4 released: New multi-phase motor models and workflow enhancements

OPAL-RT has released RT-LAB 2025.4, introducing advanced multi-phase real-time electric machine modeling alongside key improvements to FPGA-based power electronics workflows, dashboards, and hardware support.

This release adds new 3-phase open-end winding, 6-phase with electromagnetic coupling, and 12-phase PMSM FPGA models, enabling high-fidelity real-time simulation of fault-tolerant and high-performance electric machines used in automotive, aerospace, wind energy, and industrial applications.

RT-LAB 2025.4 also enhances usability and system integration through updates to the eHS FPGA-based Power Electronics Toolbox, improved dashboard workflows, and expanded support for OPAL-RT hardware platforms, including OP4300-IO, OP48H30, and XG2.
