RT-LAB 2026.1 Released: Enhanced Compatibility, Advanced Modeling, and Improved User Experience

OPAL-RT has released RT-LAB 2026.1, delivering expanded compatibility with the latest MATLAB and Simulink versions, along with new modeling capabilities and usability improvements for real-time simulation workflows.

This release introduces new synchronous machine models directly in the Schematic Editor and expands thermal losses support, enabling more accurate and accessible high-fidelity simulations. It also adds advanced ePHASORSIM components—including Dynamic Load, Controllable Current Source, and PV-bus Voltage Source—supporting more realistic IBR, grid-forming, and voltage stability studies.

RT-LAB 2026.1 further improves the user experience with faster, more responsive dashboards and enhanced stability, while expanding power electronics capabilities through new MMC blocks and updated libraries for more flexible and efficient simulation.
