​Title: What is Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL)

Abstract: In this presentation, we will discuss the basics of the real-time simulation and the power hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL) testing. The details of developing a successful PHIL test setup and experiments will be discussed next which will include: typical applications for PHIL, specifications that are important to consider, selection of the amplifiers and additional requirements for creating closed-loop testing. Some examples of typical PHIL testing for power systems and power electronics will be provided.
