Interleaved DC/DC buck converters are commonly used in point-of-load applications when high output current is required. However, multiphase series capacitor converters have significant advantages when high step-down conversion is required. Depending on the number of paralleled modules, a large amount of interleaved PWM outputs and analog inputs are needed when using a digital controller. In this context, an OPAL-RT OP4200 digital real-time simulator with a customized cassette layout is used for this application. In this presentation, operation principles of the multiphase series capacitor converter are provided, the selection of the OP4200 device is justified, and details about the digital implementation of the RCP platform are presented. |
