RT20 | Multi-Agent-Based Real-Time Infrastructure for Energy: Modeling and Simulation of a Farm Microgrid

The presentation will focus on MARTINE (Multi-Agent based Real-Time INfrastruture for Energy) developed in the Polytechnic of Porto, Portugal. It is a real-time simulation infrastructure with multi-agent technology that models smart-grid players and components and allows its realistic simulation as it is integrated with OP5600 and a 4,5 kVA amplifier. Different business models and decision-making algorithms are accommodated in order to support research on local markets, demand response, microgrids, buildings, and many other possibilities. The case study of a farm operating as a microgrid with concerns on irrigation energy consumption, and the modeling of its components, will be presented.
