| The most important problem in optimizing the functionality of the PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) is to detect a real-time analysis and control method that encapsulate all the internal variables of a PEMFC (water flow, air flow, hydrogen flow, temperature, pressure, transitory voltage variation, etc.), because, although they have different physical ranges of measurement, and different timings, they are interrelated to each other at the most intimate level. The implementation of real-time monitoring and control algorithms without necessarily having physical infrastructures, the flexibility in developing, the reduced man-hours to create the setup of the experiment and to develop and test new algorithms, are a few of advantages of using OPAL RT Technology. Validating the simulated data obtained using OPAL RT Technology with the results from a PEMFC test stands demonstrate, once again, the reliability and feasibility of using OPAL RT in the modeling and developing processes. |
