RT20 | Development of a Technical Ancillary Services Controller in Real-time Co-simulation Platform

​The presentation introduces the development and testing of a light weighted IED for technical ancillary services. Advanced simulation studies will be presented concerning the reactive power management of a medium voltage network utilizing the reactive power capabilities of a wind power plant. The power system load flow and control were modelled with ePHASORSIM and eMEGASIM platform, and the reactive power control was accomplished with a light-weight IED, IEC61850 based controller. Real measurement data from the living lab site Sundom Smart Grid was utilized in this study.
