RT20 | Real-time Cost Optimisation for Power Management in Microgrids

| In order to accelerate the development of the smart-grid and the integration of small scale power generation, their reliability and economic return of their use must be maximised while power balance is maintained with a control system that mimics the nature of distributed generation. For this purpose, a multi-agent control system is designed with provisions for generation cost minimisation and provisions for fault tolerance. The control system is tested in an OPAL-RT real-time simulation of a micro-grid and cost results are compared for different price estimation methods. |
