RT20 | Power Hardware In the Loop Infrastructure at KIT: Research Focus and Testing Possibilities

​The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has developed an interconnected PHIL testing infrastructure, involving 3 different research institutes and realizing a large-scale (100+ simulated buses, 50+ hardware buses), large-power (1MVA) PHIL infrastructure, where realistic conditions of any low voltage AC and DC grid can be tested. This presentation will introduce the newly developed testing infrastructure “Energy Lab 2.0” and explain the current research focus and research possibilities.
