RT21 | Hardware-in-the-Loop Verification and Test System for Electric Vehicle Battery Management

In this presentation, we are going to introduce a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) verification and test system for electric vehicle (EV) battery management system (BMS). BMS plays an important role in EVs which consist of thousands of series and parallel battery cells. Not only to increase battery life but more importantly, to reinforce drivers safety, BMS monitors and controls the voltage, current and temperature of every battery cells and keeps them in balance. In order to test BMS in EVs, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in Taiwan developed a HIL testbed with OPAL-RT real-time simulator integrated. The details will be demonstrated in this talk.
