RT21 | Real-Time Simulation of Complex Converters Models and Fast Converter Start-Up

In the conference, several research works related to the industry, carried out at the University of Alcalá, will be presented. The first one is the real-time simulation of a novel CHB-single DC multilevel converter that needs a predictive control, both the control and the switched model of the converter were implemented in OPAL-RT to check its reliability and proper operation before testing in a real system. The second part of the presentation shows how thanks to the use of OPAL-RT it has been possible to accelerate the start-up process of a 10kW DAB converter with an input voltage between 3kV and 4kV with different complex modulations depending on the operating point, thanks to the use of OPAL the modulations have been easily implemented from previous simulations carried out in simulink.
