RT21 | Modeling and Stability Analysis of Converter-Dominated Grids with Dynamic Loads

With the increasing penetration of renewable energy sources, the stability of modern converter-dominated power systems (CDPSs) draws more and more attention. In this presentation, we will first introduce our analytical framework for the stability analysis of CDPSs considering the impact of dynamic loads (e.g., inductions motors) based on linear time-periodic theory. The theoretical results are validated by a power-hardware-in-the-loop test bench, consisting of grid-following and grid forming converters, induction machine emulator and a grid emulator controlled with OPAL-RT OP5600.
