Demo | Part 2 | Power Electronics HIL demo with the new OP8666 RCP | OPAL-RT Learning Journey

In this demo, an OPAL-RT real-time simulator is used to simulate a three-phase three-level NPC converter with a DC source and a capacitor bank located upstream, and a LC filter connected to a controllable three-phase AC-source, located downstream. The inverter is controlled according to three different control schemes: (i) all-in-one where the system and control are all simulated in the simulator, (ii) loopback, where signals are sent out of the simulator and then looped back in, and (iii) Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) where the control algorithm is implemented in the new OP8666 RCP module from OPAL-RT.
