In this research, the real time and experimental validation of renewable energy conversion systems (RECS) integrated into distribution electrical networks by power electronics converters is presented. The main objective is the RECS interconnection, even in the presence of adverse phenomena of power quality (such as: unbalances electrical voltages). The generated power is transferred through power electronics converters using closed-loop proportional + integral (PI) regulators and a phasorial approach, owing to its modularity, power density and efficiency to transfer power from RECS to distribution electrical networks. The proposed control law guarantees: i) the continuous generation, both under normal operating conditions and with unbalanced voltages; ii) total harmonic distortion (THD) mitigation; iii) Unity power factor; iv) Balanced currents generation; v) Simple and robust control scheme; vi) Compliance with network code rules. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed RECS are corroborated by the simulation results in MATLAB-Simulink® and validated by experimental results using the real-time simulator OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES and laboratory prototyping. The results indicate a DC-link voltage compensation and integration of a power capacity in the unbalances electrical distribution networks with an efficiency of 95%.
