RT23 |Distance and differential protections HIL Testing

The differential Line (87L), The differential Transformer (87T) and the distance relay (21) are part of the most important protection relays used in high voltage lines. The purpose of those protections is to achieve the safe, rapid and selective elimination of faults internal to a protected network (transformer, line, cable, busbar). The principle of the differential Line (87L) and the differential Transformer (87T) is to detect a difference between the current entering and the current leaving the object to be protected, whereas the distance relay detects electrical faults based on the calculation of the fault impedance. The object of this presentation is to show the capabilities of Hypersim/TestViw to ensure the HIL testing and validation of the ANSI 21 distance protection, the ANSI 87T differential Transformer and the ANSI 87L Differential Line embedded in our digital solutions, the protection relays ARKENS PR.
