RT23 |Accelerated development of test system for EV battery packs and charging equipment

The development of electromobility is showing a clear trend toward higher traction powers and ever shorter charging times. Combined with the market demand and new regulations this poses high pressure on the innovation of battery cells and packs, as well as charging equipment. In-depth tests are thus necessary to guarantee the quality and performance of the new products. This in turn requires appropriate test systems that allow testing the components in all relevant operating modes and under all conditions. This presentation will address the design of modular, bi-directional power electronic units for testing battery packs and EV charging equipment and show how Opal-RT HiL and eHS Gen5 solver were used to accelerate the development.
