RT23 | HIL simulation tests for electrical certification of wind turbines on test benches

The talk presents HIL tests carried out on our nacelle and generator-converter test bench using real-time wind turbine models computed on an OPAL simulator to perform a certification of electrical characteristics with the tested wind turbine systems. In this context, the test benches and the HIL framework consisting of the real-time models and the applied simulation and automation hardware are presented as well as some selected results and lessons learned. Furthermore, an outlook on planned HIL tests on further test benches as well as ideas for an alternative application of our test benches and HIL environment for testing components from other industrial areas are given.
