Presentation, Power Hardware-In-the-Loop (PHIL), Power Systems, Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP)
2024-09-19

This presentation focuses on the Real-Time Simulation Laboratory at the Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI), highlighting the significance of Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) technology and its applications in power converters. The RCGI, based at the University of São Paulo, is dedicated to advancing energy transition research and innovation for the sustainable use of natural gas, biogas, hydrogen, and CO2 management. Key infrastructure at the lab includes the Opal-RT real-time simulator and Imperix power converters. The presentation explores PHIL workflows, infrastructure, and examples of real-case commissioning and electric machine experiments for fault analysis, emphasizing the importance of PHIL in driving power system innovation.
