The development of a new soft starter offer, constrained by high current requirements (up to six thousand Amps), multi-topologies, and limited bench availability, was achieved by leveraging Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) technology to overcome testing challenges. HIL, combining models and real hardware, provided an all-in-one solution for design and testing, enabling comprehensive test coverage and deep issue investigation. By facilitating systematic and safe destructive tests on the digital twin and integrating them into the non-regression test plan, HIL improved product quality and accelerated development by simplifying the reproduction of design issues. This approach was pivotal to the project's success, ensuring efficient and reliable product development.
