RT24 UK | Challenges and Opportunities in Modelling Power Systems Under Clean Power 2030

This presentation gives the audience a brief introduction to the National Energy System Operator, a new organization funded by the UK government following its acquisition by National Grid plc. Then it briefly covers some of the key points on recent NESO publication in response to the government’s Clean Power 2030 plan highlighting the increasingly important role of power system modelling for NESO as an organization being one of the enablers. Finally, the presentation covers several observations/challenges when conducting power system model validation and operations and the concludes by highlighting how the electricity industry, vendors, and suppliers can help in our transition toward net zero/clean power in 2030.
