With the rapid rise of renewables, large-scale electrification, and the integration of high impact loads like data centers, the margin for error in grid integration is shrinking. Today’s projects demand faster, smarter validation cycles and the ability to prove and characterize system behavior accurately before hardware ever hits the field. This webinar provides a quick overview of various blackbox inverter-based resource model integration workflows that enable their integration into real-time tools to enable hardware and software in the loop (HIL/SIL) simulations. Such simulations allow for detailed testing to boost deployment confidence, especially before and during commissioning. The presentation will also provide perspectives drawn from a major R&D initiative that leverages one standardized approach provided by the CIGRE B4.82 WG to integrate and utilize blackbox OEM controllers in real-time environments. Attendees will gain actionable insight into the integration of vendor blackbox models, empowering them to perform much-needed EMT studies accurately, whether they are building tomorrow’s data-driven energy infrastructure or working to modernize interconnection processes.
