Hanwen Zhang, Research Associate at the University of Bath, presents the advances and challenges of DC electrical networks in electric aviation. He dives into simulation of DC electrical networks, the conversion of electromagnetic transient (EMT) models into real-time simulations, and their validation results through power-hardware-in-the-loop (PHiL) testing rigs at the University of Bath. This presentation was part of the workshop Controls Development and Testing for Electrical Aviation, co-hosted by IAAPS and University of Bath at the IAAPS facility on September 3, 2026.
