OP4800 Series
Achieve New Heights in Performance with Exceptional Features

The OP4810-IO and OP4815-IO are expansion units that connect to a compatible OPAL-RT simulator. They take full advantage of the very powerful computing power of the AMD Versal FPGA and of our most advanced version of eHS, our FPGA-based Power Electronics Toolbox. The expansion units also benefit from extra I/Os, the fastest ones we've ever offered.

eHS at a New Level

Leverage the full power of eHS, OPAL-RT's FPGA Power Electronics Toolbox with its new Advanced Performance Add-on, also known as eHS Gen 5 – the fastest FPGA-Based Power Electronics Toolbox in the industry:

• No decoupling
• FPGA cores scaling
• Picosecond Oversampling
• Co-simulation ready

Upgrade and Extend Your Existing OPAL-RT System

FPGA and I/O Expansion Units OP4800 series

The OP4810-IO and OP4815-IO allow you to upgrade and expand your existing OPAL-RT system (OP4610XG, OP5705XG, and OP5707XG) with a new top-of-the-line FPGA technology and additional high-speed I/O capabilities.

The OP48XX-IO FPGA Processor and I/O Expansion Units connect to an existing OPAL-RT real-time simulator via a PCIe link, with the option for direct FPGA-to-FPGA communication using an optic-fiber SFP link. To enable this connection, a PCIe host adapter is required within the real-time simulator.

Typical HIL Simulation Applications

  • Detailed model of LLC/CLLC resonant converters as well as dual active bridge converters
  • Large power conversion applications

OP4810-IO / OP4815-IO Architecture

FPGA and I/O Expansion Units OP4800 series Architecture

At the heart of the OP48XX-IO units, there is an AMD VersalTM Prime Adaptative SoC & FPGA chip. 2 I/O modules can be factory installed in the FPGA Processor and IO Expansion units. Each module has 4 DB37-F connectors accessible at the back of the units, offering up to 64 I/Os.

Communication between the target computer and the OP48XX-IO FPGA is achieved via a PCIe link. The OP48XX-IO also comes with 12 SFP sockets, 2 Ethernet ports, TX/RX synchronization ports, and 4 DB9 connectors for 6 Tx and 6 Rx RS422 signals.
