Problem with Synchronization card using audio cable

Problem with Synchronization card using audio cable

If you have a system with two FPGAs or more (connected in MASTER/SLAVE configuration) but the Slave is not receiving any synchronization pulse from the TX of the synchronization card of the Master, please verify the following:

  • One audio cable is connected from TX of the Master to RX of the Slave.
  • If using the OP5962 card, ensure that the switch is set to the proper position (master or slave).

  • If using RT-LAB, the OpCtrl block in the model must be configured with the appropriate synchronization mode (MASTER, SLAVE). Select Master or Slave in the “Synchronization mode” field.

  • IMPORTANT: make sure that the audio cable you are using to connect TX to RX is a 3 pole audio cable. Using a 4 pole audio cable could damage the synchronization card so it is NOT RECOMMENDED.
