How To: OP8110 IP Address Recovery

The OP8110 amplifier for PHIL applications is configured using an SSH connection, as outlined in its documentation (Link). However, if the IP address is lost, this article will guide the user through recovering the amplifier's information using the serial interface.

For the recovery process, you will need:

To recover the amplifier information:

  1. Power down the OP8110.
  2. Connect the PC and OP8110 using the mini-USB cable in the serial interface on the front of the OP8110 (Interface documentation)
  3. Launch MobaXterm and start a serial connection using the COM port connected to the OP8110 and a speed of 115200bps.
  4. Power on the OP8110. You should see the boot process begin on MobaXterm. If you do not, double check your serial connection and MobaXterm session settings.
  5. Near the bottom of the print out, the OP8110 network information will be displayed. The address needed for SSH communication is the first IP in magenta (EG 10.64.111.145 in the example screenshot).

If you cannot connect to your amplifier using the serial connection, contact OPAL-RT Support.
