SIMULATOR

Brute Force Computing

OPAL-RT’s primary goal is to provide users with a real-time digital simulation platform equipped with the best Intel processor technology available. Configurable for each customer, OPAL-RT’s real-time systems can be made to simulate, supervise and communicate with each other as master and slave systems.

Based on Intel® Xeon® with up to 44-cores, the OP5033XG real-time computer serves as an ideal master system for configurations requiring FPGA and I/O expansion units. The OP5033XG also provides an ideal platform for real-time cybersecurity applications, in which only network protocols such as C37.118 and IEC61850 are required for hardware integration, as well as for users simply wishing to accelerate their offline simulations using OPAL-RT’s parallel processing technology.

Complete your System with OPAL-RT Simulators, Remote Expansion Chassis and Third Party I/Os

Real-Time Computer

Our real-time computer OP5033XG includes six PCIexpress expansion slots, to implement high-speed interfacing with other OPAL-RT simulators and an FPGA I/O expansion chassis for larger distributed Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations. The PCIexpress slots also support many third-party I/O cards, time synchronization and more, all while offering space to add additional Ethernet cards for applications requiring increased network bandwidth.

The New XG Series: Unmatched Performance

OPAL-RT is taking real-time simulation to another level with the new XG series. The new OPAL-RT operating system, OPAL-RT Linux 3, combined with Intel’s latest technologies and our unique toolboxes, allow engineers to benefit from an unmatched performance to simulate, test, integrate and validate innovative products and solutions.

Performance

Up to 2.5x faster. The new XG series system is capable of simulating larger and more complex power system, power electronics or microgrid models using fewer cores.

Reliability

Benefit from maximum reliability and availability by using a server-grade motherboard and CPU.

Accuracy

The XG series allows users to simulate models with a reduce time step for better accuracy. The number of cores on a single simulator range from 4 to 44.

Powered by Intel

OPAL-RT’s XG series is based on Intel® processors. Benefit from Intel's decades of innovation that brings world-changing technologies to the market.
