How To obtain exhaustive logs in RT-LAB for troubleshooting errors

Sometimes when trying to load a model to a target within RT-LAB, it takes longer than usual and eventually stops the loading process and an error pops up. I look at the display area in RT-LAB and there is only mention of files being transferred, but no where does it give an error or warning.

There exists a setting in RT-LAB that will allow the log at load time to be much more detailed. By default, this setting is set to minimal but sometimes we require to know more about the loading process. Fortunately, we can change the log to be very detailed which in the end, may help you solve a loading problem in a quick and effective manner.

Inside RT-LAB, go to the Diagnostic tab for your selected model. Within that tab, there are some settings that allow for better diagnostics in regard to model monitoring and debugging.

In this case, we want to change the Target display information: setting to Exhaustive. By doing this, you are now allowing RT-LAB to display the loading process with much more detail and this can help solve your loading errors.

Once the exhaustive mode activated, when reloading your model, you can get in the 'display' tab the complete load log for each computation subsystem (SM_ and all SS_) you may have in your model.

Quick Tip: By default, RT-LAB uses the setting of Minimal unless you change it. If you like, you can change the default settings so that RT-LAB will ALWAYS use Exhaustive setting. To do so, in RT-LAB, click Window > Preferences and then navigate to the Monitoring section as shown below. Any changes made in this window will set the defaults for RT-LAB.
