How to configure a "Transformer Differential Relay" (87T Transformer) as a basic "Line differential Relay"

Hypersim contains a few basic blocks for protection control. Inside the "Control Protection Relay" library, the "87T Transformer" Differential Relay (DR)block can be configured to operate as a basic "Line" DR.

Here is the proper parameter configuration to make the "87T Transformer" DR behave as a "Line" DR for a two terminal line:

1.- The user needs to configure the Primary/Secondary connection as YY0, Primary/Tertiary connection as N/A. This is to skip the current phase compensation due to the transformer winding configuration.

2.-Then for the winding voltage, simply put the Line to Line voltage of the transmission line for all three windings.

3.- CT ratio can be configured as it is. Rated current is the rated current for CT1 (the CT connected to the first terminal) secondary. It is the base to calculate per unit value for all current inputs.

4.- Disable all harmonic blocking and harmonic restraint options.

Restrictions: By configuring the parameters as above, the "87T Transformer" DR  can be used as a basic "line" DR.  To use it as a bus DR,  the number of inputs is limited to 3.
