Problem & Solution
HYPERSIM : Common License Installation Errors

Possible errors and tips for debuging:

  • Unable to install license for the following reason: Support Expired  Support Maintenance Date is expired – cannot update

This means that your license has expired or that your Support Maintenance Contract Date needs to be updated.

Contact Support making sure to put your project number and to attach the license that you are having issues with : https://www.opal-rt.com/contact-technical-support/

  • Unable to install license for the following reason: Error

This is possibly due to an error caused by a Clock Change. Try to restart services to see if that's the case.

If so, follow this KB Article to fix the issue. Don't forget to restart services after fixing the date.

  • Problem reading file. Unable to copy. Destionation \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\hyppub\code directory cannot be created.

First, connect to the Simulator via SSH or Telnet.

Navigate to /export/local/ssr/hyconfig/ and delete the following files manually if present:

license.bin

RTLicense.bin

licenselocation.txt

Try again.

If you still have the issue please follow this KB Article and/or this KB Article.

If both KBs don't solve the problem, please contact Support making sure to put your project number and to attach a screenshot of the error message : https://www.opal-rt.com/contact-technical-support/

  • Target time does not match. If the CR2032 battery on the Simulator's motherboard is dead, the Simulator will automatically reset the date to 2012. This will cause causing the license installation not to be accepted because the time (date) on the Simulator will not match the time in the Windows PC.

Make sure that the CR2032 battery outputs 3V then, contact Support making sure to attach a screenshot of the error message : https://www.opal-rt.com/contact-technical-support/

  • Same md5 checksum error

This means that you are trying to install the same license that is already installed on the Simulator.

  • File incompatible for this license

This is a problem that occurs sometimes with our License Generator, we apologize about that. We are working at the moment to make our tool proof to such mistakes.
