Panel: Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) for Autonomous Vehicle/ADAS Testing

In this panel, we take a deep overlook on real-time simulation’s role to overcome obstacles the automotive industry faces when testing autonomous vehicle controls and ADAS by migrating physical testbeds onto simulation platforms. Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are systems developed to automate/adapt/enhance vehicle systems for increased safety. It also greatly increases the test coverage for certification and validation of ADAS. Towards that new challenge and new usage of real-time simulation, RT20 will include a panel for “Model-in-the-loop (MIL) and Hardware-in-the-loop for Autonomous Vehicle and ADAS Testing” to discuss the needs and challenges and of course solutions associated with using RTS and HIL setups in autonomous and ADAS control validation.
