Where are the Files Generated by the OpWriteFile Block being Stored on the Target?

Where are the Files Generated by the OpWriteFile Block being Stored on the Target?

As a recall, by default in an RT-LAB project, the mat files are transferred back once they are full or at the end of the simulation back to the “OpREDHAWKfolder” when running on an OPAL-redhat OS. However, sometimes we want to fetch the files manually.

Assuming the field “Real Time Path” in the OpWriteFile mask is kept to the default value:

Then, the file is being saved onto the target while the simulation is running at the top level on the simulator:

You can get the file manually using MobaXterm: https://www.opal-rt.com/support-knowledge-base/?article=AA-01044

If you do not See the File on the Target

1-      Check in the RT-LAB log that the file is opened at the beginning of the simulation:

If it is not present, then the issue is related to the configuration of the OpWriteFile block itself in Simulink. Please consult this KB to properly configure the OpWriteFile: https://www.opal-rt.com/support-knowledge-base/?article=AA-00872

2-      Check the RT-LAB log that the file is not transferred back to the Windows computer. In the screenshot below, the file is transferred back to the host, so the file is not anymore on the target.

To disable this capability for only one project, go to the Files tab and uncheck the option ‘Enable automatic file retrieval’.

To disable for all projects:

go to Window > Preference . The option is in RT-LAB > Execution > File Transfers

Uncheck the option ‘Enable automatic file retrieval’. Press Apply and OK.
